Your role with us

The Data Engineering team at Apeiron Insight is looking for a committed, creative, enthusiastic software engineer to help navigate new challenges and find solutions to the complex problems brought about by an organization growing fast.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Develop and Maintain NodeJS based JavaScript Solutions, which can parse data from websites, at scale, and deliver that data accurately, on time, every time.
• You’ll be challenged to find solutions that can reliably extract large datasets from the web at high throughput.
• You’ll utilize custom metrics and monitoring infrastructure to build observability into data extraction processes.
• You’ll find yourself thinking outside the box about solving bugs and extraction issues.
• Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems.
• Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis.

What are we looking for?

• 3+ years of professional experience working with NodeJS framework and an understanding of NPM.
• Experience in web scraping and automation using TypeScript (preferred) or JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of HTTP protocol, DOM manipulation, and browser automation techniques.
• Experience with tools and libraries such as Puppeteer, Playwright or similar.
• A self-starter willing to thrive in a start-up environment. You are expected to proactively engage with what is already in place and pitch ideas for improvement.
• You are currently living in the Netherlands and can fluently communicate in English (both verbally and in writing).
• You are legally allowed to work in the Netherlands.

We also use the following in our stack, so it would be helpful if you have:

• Experience instrumenting code with custom metrics for observability.
• Familiarity with SQL, MySQL, and basic knowledge of Unix terminal commands.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git/SVN.
